BBC Apprentice Series 12 Episode 7 – Poole Harbour Boat Show

BBC Apprentice Series 12 Episode 7 is all about sales, with the candidates visiting the Poole Boat show. The key for me is to pick the right products (no great insight here, I know) and to make sure that I provide the best customer service possible for the pre-arranged appointments.  That key to customer service is all about asking the right questions.

I’d have chosen the boat for the high value item and the low value item is – honestly – not that important.  All of my focus would be on selling the boat.

I would have visited a local coffee shop to get a coffee traveler.  Offering free coffee to people on a particularly wet and windy day would at least give you the opportunity to start conversations.  I would struck a deal to have them provide free coffee. In return I’d be telling customers that if they wanted to escape the rain the coffee shop was close by.

It’ll be interesting to see what the contestants come up with.
